Training center for drone operators open in Ukraine's western city of Ternopil
A practical center has opened to train drone operators in the western city of Zbarazh, Ternopil region.
Rubryka reports, citing the Ternopil Regional State Administration, that this center is the first to be established in the college.
What is the problem?
The college reports that the functionality of drones is quite broad. They are used in agriculture, forestry, archeology, construction, and now on the battlefield, but there are not enough operators in Ukraine.
What is the solution?
Zbarazh College decided to open a practical center to train drone operators and produce more such specialists for UAVs.
How does it work?
The new specialization is "Operator of ground control means of an unmanned aerial vehicle (drone)."
Such a profession existed only in higher educational institutions in the aviation field. Such specialists will be trained in the college for the first time in Ukraine.
The training will last from one and a half months to three years. From September, the college will get 30 government spots for this profession.
Now, courses are open for those who want to learn how to fly a drone. Course participants will receive both theoretical and practical knowledge. Four highly qualified specialists will conduct training.
"We are the first in Ukraine to open such a center. It will be a civilian profession," said the director of the college, Vadym Lastovytskyi. "We will train specialists based on 9th grade. We will also conduct advanced training courses. After graduating from our educational institution, specialists will receive the specialty of the operator of ground means of controlling an unmanned aerial vehicle (drone). Our region became the first, but I am sure such centers will be opened all over Ukraine."
The institution has received specialized computer flight simulators to apply knowledge from the new discipline.
As Rubryka reported, the Ukrainian company Ukrspecsystems presented its new MiniShark drone.
