The territorial communities of the Mykolaiv region have received fifteen new school buses, purchased with the support of Denmark and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).

The Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported this on Facebook.

What is the problem?

Currently, schools in the Mykolaiv region need about 100 buses to transport students to their study places.

What is the solution?

On March 28, 15 new school buses, purchased as part of the cooperation between the Mykolaiv region and the Kingdom of Denmark, were handed over to educational institutions in the region's territorial communities.

These are modern buses equipped with everything necessary for students' comfortable and safe transportation.

"This is significant support, because most of the communities in the region have faced the consequences of a full-scale invasion. We thank our partners for all the assistance provided over the past almost three years! This is extremely important for us!", Anton Tabunshchyk, Chairman of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, said.

The project was implemented with the support of Dmytro Tarasenko, an expert from the Recovery and Development Office who works at the Mykolaiv Regional Development Agency.

"These buses will provide comfortable transportation of children from remote areas to schools and back home," the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Ukraine reported on Facebook.

How does it work?

Representatives from the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, alongside Jakob Hansen, head of the Danish Embassy in Ukraine, participated in the ceremonial handover of the keys. They delivered the vehicles to representatives from the region's districts and communities.

The buses were received by the Koblivska, Oleksandrivska, Domanivska, Sofiivska, Bratska, Kazankivska, Voskresenska, Novobuzska, Horokhivska, Pervomayska village communities, Kryvoozerska, Stepivska, Bashtanska, Bereznehuvatska, and Berezanska territorial communities of the Mykolaiv region.

Vitalii Kim emphasized the importance of creating comfortable conditions for transporting schoolchildren.

"These new buses are a joint achievement of everyone who made efforts to purchase and implement them. They have become a response to the urgent needs of local communities, because the comfort and safety of children is our priority," the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration said.

He stated that efforts are underway to create comfortable conditions for transporting schoolchildren and to provide them with the best opportunities for learning and development.
