Solutions to win: 15 sakura trees planted in Kyiv to help blossom donations for Azov fighters

15 sakura trees were planted in Kyiv's district Obolon. This initiative will help purchase high-tech equipment for "Azov" fighters.

The press service of the "Kyivzelenbud" communal association reports this.

What is the problem?

Ukrainian defenders are currently facing a lack of necessary military equipment in combat encounters. To provide the required resources, Ukrainians have been actively engaged in fundraising, organizing campaigns, and purchasing necessary supplies.

What is the solution?

Sakuras were chosen because their flowering coincided with the period when the battles on "Azovstal" were going on, a paramedic and soldier of the "Azov" regiment Asan Isenadzhiev noted.

The alley became part of the symbolic "Victory Park," which is implemented by the charitable foundation of the same name and "Kyivzelenbud."

How does it work?

"Kyivzelenbud's" representatives said that the defenders of Mariupol, including Deputy brigade commander Serhiy "Molfar" Tsisaruk and paramedic Asan "Hasan" Isenadzhiev, planted trees in the park on the recently renamed street of Heroes of the Azov Regiment in the Obolon district.

Signs with a QR code were installed near each tree so that one could donate to help the regiment.

The collection of 15 sets of equipment with PVS-14 night vision monoculars and DBAL-A2 laser guidance devices for "Azov" is underway.

The foundation explained that one sakura planted at this location is the funds collected for one set of equipment.

Each tree is planted with notes about the donors who contributed to the collection. You can enter your data in the comment in the "Add an inscription on the plate" window during the donation.

The following trees were also planted within the project:

  • plane trees near the Main Military Clinical Hospital,
  • poplar trees on Lesia Ukrainka Boulevard,
  • magnolias in the park of Maria Zankovetska.

For reference:

It should be noted that on September 22, Ukraine returned part of the defenders of Mariupol and the "Azov" regiment commanders from Russian captivity.

Among them are Sviatoslav "Kalyna" Palamar, Serhiy "Volyn" Volynskyi, Denys "Redis" Prokopenko, as well as Bohdan "Tavr" Krotevych.

Five commanders of "Azov" will remain under personal protectorate in Turkey until the end of the war. At the same time, about 700 servicemen of the "Azov" regiment are still in captivity.
