YouTube responded with lightning speed to Ukraine's appeal and complied with its request to delete Wagner PMC's group videos with over 1 million views.

The channels that distributed them were also removed, Ukraine's Ministry of Culture reports.

YouTube has always emphasized that its editorial policy is to block malicious content and channels that distribute it. Therefore sent an official letter to YouTube, LLC CEO Neil Mohan with a request to take specific measures to monitor and stop Wagner's Internet activities, the minister Oleksandr Tkachenko said.

Russia's propaganda is evolving, attracting new channels and methods of dissemination of their narratives. Due to video hosting, Russian military formations are being popularized, in particular, the Wagner PMC, Tkachenko noted.

Such IT giants as TikTok or YouTube, despite having a fairly strict editorial policy, serve as effective advertising platforms for the Russians to scale, "rejuvenate" the audience and recruit new mercenaries for the war in Ukraine.

Ukraine is grateful for the unbiased role that YouTube plays in covering the aggression of the Russian Federation to this day. At the same time, we consider it absolutely unacceptable that the world's largest video hosting company allows a transnational criminal organization, which is officially recognized by the USA, Great Britain and the EU, to advertise on its site. Such manifestations of Russian hybrid warfare must be stopped as soon as possible for the sake of the stability of the democratic world. We are sure that our YouTube partners will fix the situation quickly," the message says.

The ministry suggests sending links of found Wagner videos to their [email protected] e-mail.
