Since the beginning of the full-scale war launched by russia, 1,415 children have been affected, with 947 minors having received injuries of varying degrees of severity.

The Office of the Prosecutor General reports this.

As noted by the prosecutor's office, as of the morning of April 9, 2023, at least 1,415 children suffered.

According to the official information of juvenile prosecutors, the official number of children who died is 468.

The number of victims in the war rose substantially, with 947 minors sustaining injuries of various severities. Juvenile prosecutors stressed that these figures are not definitive, with further investigations being carried out in areas of active combat, as well as in temporarily occupied and liberated territories

Children were most affected in:

  • Donetsk region – 449,
  • Kharkiv region – 275,
  • Kyiv region– 127,
  • Mykolaiv region – 85,
  • Chernihiv region– 68,
  • Luhansk region- 66,
  • Kherson region – 94,
  • Zaporozhzhia region- 88,
  • Dnipropetrovsk region- 66.

The latest discovered facts of crimes against children:

  • On April 9, military units of russia launched a missile attack on the city of Zaporizhzhia. One rocket hit a private residential building, which led to its destruction and the death of an 11-year-old girl.
  • On April 8, a 15-year-old boy was injured due to enemy shelling in Toretsk, Donetsk region.
  • As reported, as of March 23, 3,126 educational institutions were damaged due to bombing and shelling by the armed forces of the russian federation. 338 of them were completely destroyed.

It should be noted that on March 6, Ukraine returned two teenagers, residents of Kherson. Negotiations continued for over three months so that Ihor and Vasyl would be at home again.
