russia strikes high-rise building with Kh-59 cruise missile in Avdiivka

The russian invaders struck a high-rise building where local people still lived in Avdiivka, Donetsk region, with a Kh-59 guided cruise missile on Friday morning, March 17. Information about the victims is being established.

Vitalii Barabash, the head of the Avdiivka city military administration, reported this on Telegram and published a photo of the destroyed high-rise building.

"The russians once again 'defeated' the residential building in Avdiivka. putin's jackals just hit a high-rise building where people still lived, probably with a Kh-59 missile… The photo shows the consequences of the shelling. We are finding out information about the victims," said the head of the city.

Earlier, Pavlo Kyrylenko, the head of the Donetsk regional military administration, reported on Telegram that a russian air-missile strike occurred in the morning on Avdiivka, Donetsk region. He also reported that the russian forces had been attacking in different directions. There are dead and wounded civilians in the region.

"In the Donetsk direction, a colony building was damaged in the Kurakhivka community. In the Maryinka community, Maryinka and Krasnohorivka came under fire; in the Ocheretyne community, russians shelled Krasnohorivka, Kamianka, Severne, and Vodiane. In the morning, there was an air rocket attack on Avdiivka without casualties," the head of the region wrote.

He noted that there were two waves of shelling of Kostiantynivka from Uragan cluster munitions in the Horlivka area. As a result, six people were injured, and at least 19 houses, a school, and an enterprise were damaged. In addition, one person died and one was injured in Toretsk, one person was injured, and five high-rise buildings were damaged in Bakhmut.

In the Soledar community, five houses were damaged in Fedorivka and five in Vasiukivka. There was also shelling of the Chasovoiarsk community. In the Lysychansk direction, the outskirts of the Siversk community, Torske, and Zarichne of the Lyman community are under fire.
