US will "eventually" send F-16 jets to Ukraine – former top admiral

International allies will eventually provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets, but it is unclear when exactly.

Such an opinion was expressed by the former head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US, Mike Mullen, on the air of the Canadian TV channel CBC.

"I think the F-16s will be provided, it's hard to know exactly when, but I think they're coming," said Mike Mullen.

In his opinion, these aircraft "will have a significant impact" on the battlefield.

Mullen emphasized that even with the already available forces and resources, Ukraine can have a "devastating effect on any possible russian ground attack." "Ukrainians learn, train and adapt quickly, and also very quickly and constantly defeat russians. I expect that this will continue in the future, and russians will be under increasing pressure in the east," the former military commander noted.

As reported earlier, Polish President Andrzej Duda expressed his country's readiness to hand over MiG-29 combat aircraft to Ukraine, which the Ukrainian military can immediately use in combat operations.

The President of the Republic of Poland previously stated that the country has little potential to transfer F-16 aircraft to Ukraine.
