lukashenko pays official visit to China

On February 28, as geopolitical tensions rise due to russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, the self-proclaimed president of belarus, alexander lukashenko, a close ally of russian aggressor vladimir putin, pays a three-day visit to Beijing.

China declares that this visit is "an opportunity to promote the further development of comprehensive cooperation" with belarus.

At the same time, there is growing concern that China is considering the possibility of providing military aid to russia. According to officials of the United States of America, this will lead to severe consequences.

For reference:

On February 24, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China presented a plan for the settlement of russia's war against Ukraine. According to Beijing, the document contains 12 points that will contribute to the end of hostilities. Among them are the cessation of hostilities, the beginning of peace negotiations, the end of unilateral sanctions, and others.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expressed skepticism about China's plan, saying Beijing "doesn't deserve much trust" because it failed to condemn the illegal invasion of Ukraine.

The United States evaluates the peace plan put forward by China with some skepticism, US Permanent Representative to NATO Julian Smith said in an interview with the "Radio Svoboda" media.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, commenting on the plan proposed by China to end russia's war against Ukraine, said that the main thing is not words but the steps that follow them and the results.

The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, criticized China's proposals, saying they were not a peace plan.
