Ukrainian soldiers practicing offensive, defensive operations in UK

Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel are undergoing basic military training in the United Kingdom under the leadership of British instructors, learning how to move as part of a unit and conduct offensive and defensive operations.

Chief of Staff, Deputy Commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavliuk, said this in a post on Telegram and published photos from the training.

"Military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are undergoing training on conducting combat operations in populated areas under the leadership of A Company of the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment of the British Armed Forces," Pavliuk wrote.

The UK government launched basic combined military training for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2022. It is part of the UK's ongoing commitment of more than GBP 2.3 billion in military aid to Ukraine.
