Historical drama "Schedryk" collected 3.5 million hryvnias in two weekends

Over two weekends of rental, the historical film drama "Shchedryk," ("Carol of the Bells" — ed.) directed by Olesya Morgunets-Isaenko, collected 3,562,641 hryvnias.

This was reported by the press service of FILM.UA Distribution.

"The second weekend of the film Shchedryk's release is over! It's time to share new incredible results with you. 26,864 viewers have already visited Ukrainian cinemas. The box office of the two weekends amounted to 3,562,641 hryvnias," the message said.

Thus, the Morgunets-Isaenko drama managed to break its own record of the first weekend.

"Even more sold-outs, even more viewers, even more feedback and positive comments!" the post emphasized.

The Ukrainian-Polish historical drama "Shchedryk" tells the story of three families of different nationalities: Ukrainians, Poles, and Jews. They live together in the same house.

With the beginning of the Second World War, these three families unite in the face of the threat of war, as well as the repressions that accompany each change of power.

 

  • The Ukrainian family was played by actors Andriy Mostrenko, Yana Koroliova, and Polina Gromova.
  • Polish — the Kalinowski family — famous Polish actors Miroslaw Haniszewski and Joanna Opozda.
  • The Jewish family is played by Tomasz Sobczak and Ukrainian actress Alla Bineeva.
  • The German couple is a married couple of actors, Janina Rudenska and Jakob Walzer.

One episode also features the singer, Honored Artist of Ukraine, winner of the 9th season of the Voice of the Country vocal show Oksana Mukha.

We will remind you that the historical drama "Shchedryk" was released in Ukrainian cinemas on January 5, 2023. The world premiere took place almost a year before — on March 4, 2022.
