G20 condemnation of russia's aggression draft project: what is known — media

The joint project of the G20 leaders on the condemnation of russia's aggression against Ukraine was made public, from which it follows that some countries have "different views and different assessments of the situation and sanctions"

This is discussed in the draft joint statement of the G20 following the meeting, which was reviewed by the Financial Times and Bloomberg.

We will remind that on November 15, the G20 summit started on the Indonesian island of Bali.

The draft final statement indicates the inadmissibility of the use or threat of the use of nuclear weapons.

"Peaceful conflict resolution, crisis management efforts, as well as diplomacy and dialogue are of vital importance. The current era must not be an era of war," the text of the document emphasizes.

As noted in a joint statement prepared for the G20 summit, most G20 countries intend to condemn russia's war in Ukraine, launched by the russian federation led by its dictator putin.

The document emphasizes that the war unleashed by russia "causes enormous human suffering" and "exacerbates existing problems in the world economy."

The Financial Times notes that G20 leaders have not yet signed the document. The delegates only approved it on the evening of November 14.

In its turn, Bloomberg adds that the project includes compromise wording.

The statement has to be signed by as many participants as possible so that the summit does not become the first in history that ended without a joint communiqué.

In addition, the document explains that some countries have "different views and different assessments of the situation and sanctions."

"Most members strongly condemned the war in Ukraine and stressed it is causing immense human suffering and exacerbating existing fragilities in the global economy – constraining growth, increasing inflation, disrupting supply chains, heightening energy and food insecurity, and elevating financial stability risks," Bloomberg writes.

G20 summit

It should be noted that one of the most important meetings within the G20 took place yesterday.

Just then, US President Joe Biden met with Chinese leader Xi Jinping. Biden and Xi talked about relations between countries and the importance of their role in solving global problems.

The topic of the war in Ukraine remains one of the key topics at the meeting.

As Rubryka wrote, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has already addressed the participants of the G20 summit. He said that now was the time when the destructive war could be ended.

Zelensky also emphasized in his speech that it is now important not to let russia wait and build up its forces and then start a new series of terror.

In addition, the Ukrainian leader proposed 10 points of peace terms with russia. In particular, the russian federation must withdraw its troops from Ukrainian territory and pay reparations to Ukraine for the damage caused.
