McDonald's to reopen restaurants in Kyiv, western Ukraine
McDonald's has decided to gradually reopen its restaurants in Ukraine, starting from Kyiv and the country's western regions.
McDonald's Ukraine said this in a statement posted on its Facebook page.
According to the report, after lengthy consultations and discussions with Ukrainian officials, suppliers and security professionals, and in response to requests from McDonald's Ukrainian employees to return to work, the company has decided to introduce a phased plan to reopen some restaurants in Kyiv and western Ukraine, where other businesses have safely reopened.
"Over the next few months, we will begin working with suppliers to get product to restaurants, making the physical properties ready to serve customers, bringing restaurant teams and employees back on site, and implementing enhanced procedures and protocols to support the safety of our people and customers," Paul Pomroy, senior vice president for international operated markets, said in a message to employees.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba earlier said that the return of a great American company is, first of all, a signal for the international business of the opportunity to work in Ukraine, even in spite of war."
