The British government expands sanctions against russia: Medvedchuk and the main Lukoil shareholder are on the list

Britain has added another 206 russian individuals and legal entities to the sanctions list

This was reported by the EP.

According to them, sanctions have also been imposed on the father of putin's godchild Viktor Medvedchuk, who was detained the day before.

The sanctions focus on those structures that supported the occupied districts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

"After the horrific missile attacks on civilians in eastern Ukraine, we are today imposing sanctions on those who support illegally isolated regions and are involved in atrocities against the Ukrainian people," said British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss.

"We will continue to target all those who are helping and supporting putin's war.

From tomorrow, we will ban the import of russian iron and steel, as well as the export of quantum technologies and advanced materials that putin so desperately needs.

We will not rest, our mission is to stop putin's military machine on the move," she said.

Among those whose assets are to be frozen are Viktor Medvedchuk, who was detained the day before in Ukraine, as well as russian oil tycoon and Lukoil's major shareholder Vagit Alekperov, whose fortune was estimated at $25 billion last year.
