President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on Japan to impose an embargo on trade with Russia and help develop new world security mechanisms

This is stated in Zelenskyy's address to the Japanese parliament, Rubryka reports.

"I call for the united efforts of the Asian states, your partners, to stabilize the situation. For Russia to seek peace and stop the tsunami of its brutal invasion of Ukraine.

An embargo on trade with Russia is needed. It is necessary to withdraw companies from the Russian market so that the money does not go to the Russian army. We need to help our state, even more, our defenders who are stopping Russian troops," Zelenskyy said.

He also stressed that now it was necessary to develop new security guarantees that would work to prevent aggression.

Zelenskyy invited Japan to take the lead in developing these guarantees.

The President also stated that there was a radioactive and chemical threat due to the actions of the Russian occupiers.

He recalled how they recently fired on a chemical plant in the Sumy region, which led to an ammonia leak.
