US Secretary of State and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office: Dialogue with Russia should be conducted in three directions
The West must engage in dialogue with Russia in three areas: bilateral cooperation between the United States and Russia, the NATO-Russia Council, and the OSCE Forum.
This was discussed during a telephone conversation on Thursday between US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau, the press service of the Polish Foreign Ministry reports.
It is noted that the parties stressed that despite Moscow's public statements, there were still no signs of de-escalation of the situation around Ukraine's borders.
"The parties agreed that there is still a chance for a diplomatic solution to the current crisis, and the key to this should be a dialogue in three areas: the US-Russia, the NATO-Russia Council, and the OSCE Forum," the statement said.
Rau also thanked Blinken for the US decision to send an additional US military contingent to Poland, stressing the need to strengthen NATO's eastern flank.
