Motor Sich to build a passenger helicopter for 8 people

Zaporizhzhia enterprise Motor Sich will build a composite passenger helicopter from European materials, designed for 8 people.

Viacheslav Bohuslaiev, President of Motor Sich JSC, said this during the "Big Construction: Aviation and Tourism" forum held at Boryspil Airport.

"We've built a line of 60 helicopters a year. We make 20. Should there be orders, we'll make 60. The helicopter is no longer a luxury, it's a necessity. Now we're opening a shop for the production of fuselages. The next stage is a passenger helicopter, completely composite, from European materials, for 8 people. There are prospects. There's a demand," Bohuslaiev said.

He presented a medical helicopter, composite blades, and an upgraded 8MSB-SB.V helicopter.

"The helicopter industry has appeared in Ukraine. It didn't exist before. Helicopters are half composite: composite blades, glass cabin, it's completely digital inside; everything is made by Ukrainian designers, certified," said the head of Motor Sich.

He presented the Mi-2MSB-1 medical helicopter, which is equipped with European equipment and is able to transport the patient in any condition.

"There's an order (from the state – ed.) for 25 helicopters. Next year we have to hand over 10 items," Bohuslaiev added.

As previously reported, the ambulance helicopter was presented on October 22 in Zaporizhzhia at the helipad of the regional clinical hospital.

Motor Sich is a Ukrainian enterprise engaged in the development and production, repair, and maintenance of aircraft gas turbine engines for aircraft and helicopters, as well as industrial gas turbine plants. The headquarters is located in the city of Zaporizhzhia.
