Zelenskyy invites Russia to Crimean Platform to "correct its historical tragic mistake"
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has invited Russia to join the Crimean Platform to collaborate on the ways to de-occupy Crimea.
Zelenskyy stated this at the last speech of the Crimean Platform Summit, the UP reports.
"I thought that the Russian Federation, which, of course, didn't participate in the summit, but so actively discussed, commented, reacted, was so active that it seemed as if it was a full member of the Crimean Platform.
If they're so interested in this platform, we invite the Russian Federation to join the Crimean Platform to collectively work out ways to de-occupy Crimea and correct its historical tragic mistake. I promise that the summit declaration condemning the occupation of Crimea will always have a line for the signature of the representative of the Russian Federation. Most likely, this signature will be at the last summit of the Crimean Platform in Yalta," Zelenskyy said.
As reported by Rubryka, today, August 23, Ukraine celebrates National Flag Day.
This year, on the Day of the Flag of Ukraine, the Crimean Platform is being held in Kyiv, with the participation of more than 40 countries. This is a diplomatic initiative of Ukraine, its main goal is to return international attention to the issue of Crimea, protection of human rights in the occupied territories, and de-occupation of the peninsula.
According to Zelenskyy, the Crimean Platform declaration recognizes the Russian Federation as an occupying power for the first time at the international level.
