2020 Olympics: Ukraine wins women's boxing for the first time

Ukrainian Anna Lysenko successfully started at the women's Olympic boxing tournament in the category up to 69 kilograms, defeating Oumaima Belahbib from Morocco.

This was reported by ZN.UA.

The 29-year-old Lysenko won all five rounds, with a score of 10:9 in her favor.

Thus, for the first time in the history of Ukraine's independence, the boxer won the Olympics.

At the last Games in Rio, Ukraine was represented by Tatiana Kob, who lost in the first bout.

Anna's opponent in the quarterfinals will be Busenaz Surmenelli from Turkey. The fight to reach the semifinals of the Olympic Games will take place on July 30.

The Olympic Games in Tokyo will be held until August 8. Ukraine is represented at the Olympics by 157 athletes, the smallest number of participants from Ukraine at the Summer Games since independence.
