2020 Olympics: tennis players Kichenok sisters won in 1/8 finals

Ukrainian tennis players Liudmila and Nadiia Kichenok won the 1/8 finals of the Tokyo Olympics in doubles and advanced to the next stage of the competition.

The Ukrainians defeated the Italians Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini in two sets (7:6, 6:2).

The match lasted 1 hour and 48 minutes

The Kichenok sisters are contending with Russians Veronika Kudermetova and Elena Vesnina to reach the Olympics' semifinals. The quarterfinal match will take place on July 27.

Liudmila and Nadiia Kichenok are holding their second Olympics. In 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, the Ukrainians lost in the first match.

On July 24, Ukrainian tennis players Elina Svitolina and Diana Yastremska failed to overcome the first round of the Olympic tournament in Tokyo in doubles.

Elina Svitolina made her way to the third round in the singles category of the Olympics, beating the 51st racket of the world Ajla Tomljanović from Australia.
