Zelenskyi approves a plan to admit foreign troops to Ukraine for exercises

President Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed the Law "On admission of units of armed forces of other states to the territory of Ukraine in 2021 to participate in multinational exercises."

The Office of the President reports.

In December 2020, the President signed a Decree "On the Plan for multinational exercises with the participation of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of Ukraine and their participation in multinational exercises outside Ukraine for 2021 and on the admission of units of armed forces of other states to Ukraine for 2021 in multinational exercises," which required approval by the Verkhovna Rada.

Eight multinational exercises are to be held on the territory of Ukraine; it's planned to involve about 21 thousand Ukrainian military personnel and about 11 thousand foreign participants, in particular:

  1. Multinational exercises on the training of units of the armed forces, American-Ukrainian exercises "Rapid Trident – 2021";
  2. British-Ukrainian exercises "Kozak Mace – 2021";
  3. American-Ukrainian exercises "Sea Breeze – 2021";
  4. Romanian-Ukrainian exercises "Riverine – 2021," British-Ukrainian exercises "Warrior Watcher – 2021";
  5. Polish-Ukrainian exercises "Three Swords – 2021";
  6. "Silver Saber – 2021."

Besides, the document contains a plan for the participation of the Ukrainian military in 17 multinational exercises outside Ukraine, in particular with the participation of NATO countries and Georgia.
