Ukrainians choose elections and COVID-19 epidemic as year's most important events

Ukrainian citizens consider local elections the main political event of 2020 in Ukraine, while they consider a presidential election in the United States the key event in the world.

Razumkov Center provided the poll data.

Among other things, most respondents named the coronavirus epidemic and epidemiological measures related to the pandemic the key event of 2020 in Ukraine and the world (23% and 27.5%, respectively).

4.5% of respondents mentioned the decision of the Constitutional Court to repeal anti-corruption laws; 3% named the adoption of the law on the agricultural land market; 3% noted the truce in Donbas; 2% is the economic crisis and declining living standards; 2% named rising prices for gas and utility tariffs, 2% is the release of prisoners, 1% mentioned the war in the Donbas.

Regarding world events, among the top ones, 10% of respondents named the elections in Belarus; 5%, the war in Nagorno-Karabakh, 2%, the global economic crisis, 1.5%, the creation of a vaccine against COVID-19.
