Ukraine supports Sandu's initiative to withdraw Russian troops from Transnistria

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine supported the idea of the newly elected President Maia Sandu to withdraw the Russian military contingent from Transnistria.

First Deputy Minister Emine Japarova stated this in a conversation with Moldovan Ambassador Ruslan Bolbochan, the ministry's press service reports.

Japarova invited Moldova to join the Crimean Platform and briefed the ambassador on human rights violations on the occupied peninsula and its militarization.

The parties exchanged statements to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity and discussed Transnistria.

"Ukraine is an active participant in the negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement, and we support the initiative of the newly elected President of Moldova Maia Sandu to withdraw Russian military units from the Transnistrian region of Moldova as soon as possible," Japarova said.
