It's for your heart: why socially responsible business needs corporate volunteering

Today, yesterday and always companies are interested in hiring the best. Young professionals learn quickly and change jobs often because they've got more and more choices. Paying well isn't enough. Millennials want more and are willing to give their passion and skills in return.

One of the key tools to build the image of a socially responsible business is corporate volunteering. It can be any activity, aimed at supporting a charity or contributing to positive changes in society: internships for young people, social projects for all employees, or even field camps. But wait, volunteering is about unpaid work. What makes it attractive?

It's not that simple. Corporate volunteering has long-term benefits for both the employee and the employer. In Lithuania, the Netherlands, and Spain, it's now helping professionals to prove themselves in the labor market.

One-third of the unemployed in Ukraine are young people under 35. This problem also needs solving. As part of the United for Youth project, the Eastern Europe Foundation joined the development of a handbook on corporate social volunteering, where researchers analyzed best European practices and opportunities for its application in Ukraine.

And while you haven't read it yet, we'll explain why you need corporate volunteering right now.
