"The classroom system is in crisis." Winner of the annual Global Teacher Prize, a history teacher from the Ternopil region shared the secrets of the school of the future
For the fourth year in a row, "Osvitoria" community union awards the most innovative and enthusiastic teachers.
The Global Teacher Prize Ukraine is a national award for the country's leading teachers, which is part of the Global Teacher Prize World, like Oscar for teachers. They designed this award not only to promote innovative approaches in education but also to raise the prestige of the teaching profession.
This year, a record number of contestants competed for the prestigious award, almost 3,000 teachers from 21 regions of Ukraine.
The winner is Vasyl Diakiv, who has been working at the gymnasium in Zalishchyky, Ternopil region, for 24 years. As a prize, he received 250 thousand hryvnias, a trip to the International Education Forum in London, and a free year of study from the public union "Osvitoria."
Vasyl Diakiv teaches history, civic education, and health basics. Global Teacher Prize Ukraine is not his only achievement. Last year he won the competition "Teacher of the Year", he was awarded the title of "Honored Teacher of Ukraine", and 59 of his students are winners of competitions of the Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
