"Recovery Window": Ukrainian media and think tanks have joined forces to monitor reconstruction. How to join?

On January 22, 2024, on the Day of the National Assembly of Ukraine, the Media Network "Recovery Window" (UA Recovery Window Media Network) will start its work. A number of independent media, NGOs and think tanks have already joined the association. Currently, other media and non-media entities are welcome to participate, expressing a desire to engage in discussions regarding the recovery and monitor the reconstruction process.
The goal of the "Recovery Window" is to qualitatively and transparently talk about the recovery of all affected regions on a single platform. Members of the Network will create investigations, reports, analytics and explainers about reconstruction, and all this content will be aggregated on an online platform, the launch of which is planned for March 2024. Today, the Recovery.Window pages on Facebook, Instagram and Telegram have already started working. Everyone is encouraged to subscribe to keep up to date with news about the reconstruction of Ukraine.
"We chose the window as a symbol of unification for three reasons. First, behind every window broken by shelling there are stories of people. "Recovery Window" will make such stories visible, even from remote communities. Second, our online platform will become a one-stop-shop for reconstruction, consolidating information on recovery processes from all regions. Lastly, the window is a symbol of transparency and zero tolerance for corruption. We won't just talk about recovery; we'll keep an eye on the reconstruction process publicly," states Anastasiia Rudenko, the coordinator of the media network.
Who has already joined?
Seven organizations became co-founders and first partners of the media network:
- "Eastern Variant" (Donetsk region and Luhansk region),
- "MOST" (Kherson region),
- "Nakypilo" (Kharkiv region),
- "Intent" (Odesa region, Mykolaiv region),
- all-Ukrainian solutions media outlet "Rubryka",
- analytical center "Democratic initiatives named after Ilko Kucheriv",
- analytical platform VoxUkraine.
How to join?
The "Recovery Window" media network is open to expansion and cooperation with the media, NGOs, think tanks, as well as interaction with state bodies and representatives of local authorities.
In the first step, "Recovery Window" invites media organizations aiming to enhance transparency in the reconstruction processes in their region and Ukraine, to complete a form expressing your interest in joining the network. The next step will involve NGOs, but interested initiatives can already fill out the form.
What do media organizations get when they join the network?
- Financial support for content production. Association partners can receive compensation ranging from 7,000 to 40,000 hryvnias for each material covering the topic of reconstruction.
- Access to learning opportunities for media. Expert training sessions on the topic of reconstruction will be organized for the association's partners.
- Access to cross-sectoral experts and analytics. The media will be able to request comments from network experts and be the first to learn about partner analytics.
- Assistance with distribution. The "Recovery Window" online platform will aggregate content related to reconstruction, boosting the audience for each participating media outlet.
To start interaction, representatives of the media and NGOs should fill out a short Google form. All individuals who complete the form will receive additional information regarding the details and terms of cooperation, along with other network announcements.
