Russian forces target children's health center in Sumy with Shahed UAVs, explosions rock Poltava and Zaporizhzhia

On the evening of January 12, Russian forces launched a strike with Shahed drones on the Sumy community, igniting fires in both the residential sector and a children's health center. Explosions reverberated through Poltava as well. Meanwhile, in Zaporizhzhia, a Russian drone attack led to significant destruction and resulted in casualties.

"On January 12, as a result of the fall of fragments of the Russian Shahed on the territory of the children's health center of the Sumy community, a fire broke out," the report says.

According to preliminary data, there were no casualties.

"People are alive and well," Acting Mayor of Sumy Artem Kobzar said.

The State Emergency Service reported that rescuers had to simultaneously extinguish fires at several addresses.

"The burning centers have been eliminated. The areas where the attacks were carried out have been examined," emergency responders said.

According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, the fire at the children's health center in the Sumy community was caused by debris from a Russian drone.

"Preliminarily, no people were injured. All necessary services are working on the spot. The consequences of the enemy attack are being clarified," the administration added.

It should be noted that the Russians have been regularly shelling the territory of the Sumy region since the beginning of the large-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The region's border areas are particularly affected, but the enemy has also significantly intensified its attacks on Sumy in the past week.

So, on Sunday, January 12, in the Sumy region, Russian occupiers attacked a bus with a drone. There are injuries as a result of the enemy attack.

Explosions in Poltava

"The sound of an explosion was heard in Poltava," the report says.

Monitoring groups reported explosions in the city at 12:12 a.m.

On Sunday, at 6:33 p.m., an air raid alert was issued in the Poltava region.

Strike on Zaporizhzhia

In Zaporizhzhia, a Russian drone strike on the evening of January 12 caused destruction and injuries.

The footage shows significant destruction of the building, particularly on ​​the first floor of the two-story building. Emergency services are also working at the site of the enemy strike, and work is underway to eliminate the consequences of the shelling.

As specified by the head of the regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, the number of people injured in the drone attack in Zaporizhzhia has increased to two people.

The official mentioned on his Telegram that the victims sustained blast injuries and limb damage. They are currently receiving medical care.
