New defense deals, arms investments, and a victory strategy: Zelensky sums up his visits to four European capitals
After President Volodymyr Zelensky's visits to London, Paris, Rome, and Berlin, Ukraine's allies pledged new defense packages, air defense systems, and investments in drone and weapons production within Ukraine.
According to a statement from the president, Zelensky also shared details of his "Victory Plan" with his European partners, Rubryka reports.
"Defense packages, air defense, and investments in drone and weapons production in Ukraine — these are the results of my visits to London, Paris, Rome, and Berlin," Zelensky said.
He also noted that the next steps would involve coordinating efforts on the ground and in diplomacy to strengthen Ukraine's position and bring a just peace for Ukraine and Europe.
Zelensky's European tour
On October 9, Zelensky visited Croatia to speak at the Ukraine-Southeast Europe summit, where he outlined concrete steps toward peace. During the visit, he held meetings with leaders from Albania, North Macedonia, Greece, and Slovenia.
On October 10 and 11, Zelensky traveled to the UK, France, Italy, and Germany, where he met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. In the Vatican, he also met with Pope Francis, gifting him a painting that depicted the Bucha massacre. Discussions covered financial support for Ukraine and the reconstruction of Chernihiv.
