Ukraine will soon receive a new military aid package from Italy, most of which will be air defense equipment.

According to Ukrinform, Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani announced this at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin.

"I completely agree with Dmytro (Kuleba – ed.) when he says that the first strategy for the recovery of Ukraine is to protect its infrastructure with the help of various air defense systems," Tajani said.

He announced the preparation by the Italian government of a new package of military aid, most of which will consist of air defense equipment.

"I want to inform you that we have a new package of military aid (to Ukraine – ed.), and it is primarily about air defense," the minister said.

As reported, Italy has confirmed the transfer of an additional SAMP/T anti-aircraft missile complex battery capable of intercepting ballistic missiles.

It should be noted that on April 17, the German government launched an initiative to find additional means of air defense that could be transferred to Ukraine.

At the same time, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, said that Ukraine is currently negotiating the transfer of four Patriot batteries.
