The attack on the gunpowder plant near Tambov and the oil depot near Bryansk has inflicted damage on Russian capabilities.

These attacks complicate Russian logistics and disrupt supply schedules, Rubryka reports, citing Ukrainian Defense Intelligence spokesperson Andrii Yusov.

"A good rumble, a good bang. Such events regularly happen at military facilities in the aggressor state," he said. "If we talk about an oil depot involved in supplying fuel and lubricants, among other things, [to the Russian army], it complicates logistics for the occupiers. It disrupts supply schedules and provisioning. Consequently, it provides additional opportunities, a time buffer, and increases maneuvering space for our defenders."

Yusov also commented on Russian claims that Ukrainian drones can fly distances of up to 900 kilometers. "We cannot confirm or deny it. Still, Ukrainian drones can cover even greater distances. If we talk about the reaction in Russian society, all questions should be directed to Putin, Shoigu, Gerasimov — those who continue the genocidal war against Ukraine," the representative added.

To recap, on the night of January 19, a powerful fire broke out at an oil depot in the city of Klintsy in the Bryansk Oblast. As reported by a source in the special services, this resulted from a successful operation by the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence.

The fire at the oil depot in Klintsy, Bryansk Oblast, Russia, has been assigned an increased level of complexity. Governor Aleksandr Bogomaz announced that four reservoirs with petroleum products are on fire.

A fire train and other special fire and technical equipment are being used to extinguish the petroleum products. More than 140 people are combating the fire. Bohgomaz stated that emergency services are "preparing to use a foam attack."

While the fire extinguishing operation is ongoing, 32 residents of private houses have been temporarily evacuated to relatives.

Today, Russian media reported a drone attack on the Tambov gunpowder plant. It is located in the Russian city of Kotovsk, where powder for weapons and ammunition is produced. The Ukrainian Intelligence is also behind this attack.

Incidents at this plant are not uncommon. On the night of November 11, 2023, explosions occurred at the Kotovsk powder plant in the Tambov region of Russia. Subsequently, a fire broke out there.

Russian media reported that the fire area was approximately 300 square meters and was extinguished in at least an hour and a half.

Fighters from the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence were behind this operation. However, the intelligence neither confirmed nor refuted this fact.

Also, on June 20, in the city of Kotovsk, an explosion occurred at a powder plant. After the explosion, a fire broke out in the building.

Attack on the Russian oil depot in St. Petersburg

On January 18, Russia claimed a so-called "attempted attack" on an oil depot in St. Petersburg. According to information from the Russian republics, a UAV allegedly crashed and exploded on the territory of the oil depot. Traditionally, Russia downplayed the aftermath of attacks.

Sources in intelligence services confirmed the attack as a successful special operation by the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence. The source claimed there was evidence of hits on targets.

Drones attacked the oil and gas company "St. Petersburg Oil Terminal," the largest Russian terminal for transshipment of petroleum products in the Baltic region.

Russians also complain that drones supposedly reached Leningrad Oblast for the first time, which is located 800 km directly from the border with Ukraine. According to sources, this is not the first time this has happened, and they added that there were "differences and the enemy felt them."

Ukraine's Minister of Strategic Industries, Oleksandr Kamishyn, stated that the drones used in the attack on the oil depot in the Leningrad Oblast were of Ukrainian origin.

According to sources, one of the drones flew over the residence of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in Valdai during the attack.
