War in Ukraine will take center stage at World Economic Forum in Davos – Duda

The issue of the Ukrainian war will be a key focus at the World Economic Forum in Davos (Switzerland).

Polish President Andrzej Duda said this during a statement to the media on Monday in Warsaw after a meeting in the presidential palace with the head of the Polish government, Donald Tusk, according to Ukrinform.

"I think that, like last year, the case of Ukraine will also dominate this year (at the forum in Davos – ed.). This is one of the most important topics today: that the war ends with the victory of Ukraine," Duda emphasized.

He added that this victory would consist of the implementation of President Volodymyr Zelensky's peace plan, which provides for the return to Ukraine of the territories occupied by Russia and the restoration of Ukraine's sovereignty within internationally recognized borders.

Duda said that negotiations on the Peace Formula were held in Davos at the level of national security advisers and foreign policy advisers, in which the head of the International Policy Bureau under the President of Poland, Mieszko Pawłak, took part. The President of the Republic of Poland noted that more and more countries are participating in these meetings, which is a "good signal." He emphasized that 17 more countries have joined this initiative, where the search for a solution to the difficult situation in Ukraine continues.

Duda also informed that during his visit to Davos, he would have several meetings within the functioning of the "House of Ukraine." In particular, he noted that he would take part in the exhibition dedicated to civilian victims of Russian crimes in Ukraine.

"I will take part in the opening of this exhibition so that as many forum participants as possible visit it because it is important to be aware of the drama of the situation in Ukraine," the Polish leader emphasized.

Duda will be in Davos from January 16 to 18. In particular, on the evening of January 16, he will participate in the opening of an exhibition highlighting Russian war crimes in Ukraine. On the morning of January 18, he will attend a Ukrainian breakfast.

As previously reported by Rubryka, the World Economic Forum started in Davos. The World Economic Forum's 54th annual meeting, which runs until January 19, will be convened under the theme "Restoring Trust" to provide an important space to step back and focus on fundamental principles of trust, including transparency, consistency, and accountability.

On January 15, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky began a working visit to the Swiss Confederation, where he will meet with the heads of both houses of parliament, party leaders, and the president of Switzerland, participate in the World Economic Forum, and hold several bilateral meetings.

It was also reported that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, is scheduled to speak at the annual World Economic Forum in Davos on January 16.
