Ukraine preparing action plan in case of prolonged power outages

Today, October 3, the first meeting of the Coordinating Staff for operational response and ensuring normal living conditions of the population during possible power outages took place.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko, reported this.

According to him, the main goal is a timely response to all emergencies that will occur in the country. The Situation Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs employs analysts who calculate possible threats and response scenarios. Ukraine is entering a problematic autumn-winter period, for which everyone must be ready in all directions.

"Based on last year's experience, we have already prepared an action plan in case of long-term power outages. Increased patrols by police groups, provision of generators to medical facilities and critical infrastructure facilities, operation of Points of Invincibility – this is far from an exhaustive list of measures. We know how to respond to such challenges," Klymenko emphasized.

For reference:

Analysts and experts believe that the occupiers cannot leave Ukrainians without electricity this winter. But the military warns that the occupiers may be preparing for attacks; in particular, they will use Shahed drones.

President Volodymyr Zelensky declares that all relevant services are already preparing for winter, and the Cabinet of Ministers [Ukraine's government – ed.]and regions have received deadlines for preparation.

"Ukrenergo" National Power Company is confident that Ukraine will have enough electricity in winter, but massive shelling by the Russians could change the situation. Therefore, energy experts consider the worst scenarios in winter.
