Ukraine's air force destroyed eight Russian attack drones overnight

On the night of July 27, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with Iranian drones and Kalibr missiles.

Ukrainian defenders managed to destroy eight drones, the Air Force reports. 

On the night of 27 July 2023, Russia attacked from the southeast with attack UAVs and cruise missiles.

A total of two Kalibr missile launches from a submarine in the Black Sea and eight Iranian Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones from the direction of Prymorsko-Akhtarsk were recorded," the press service said.

Kalibr missiles hit the port infrastructure of Odesa, causing destruction and casualties.

All eight were downed by the Air Force in Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions.

Over the past day, the Air Force launched 11 airstrikes on the Russian targets and areas of concentration of personnel and military equipment of the occupying forces.

Ukraine's air defense forces shot down 36 cruise missiles fired from Russia in the afternoon of July 26. During the attack, the Russians targeted the western Khmelnytskyi region with four hypersonic Kinzhal missiles.

Mykola Oleshchuk, Commander of the Air Force, reports Ukrainian forces shot down three Kalibr cruise missiles and 33 Kh-101/Kh-555 missiles.

The debris of a downed missile fell in the settlements of the Khmelnytskyi district, damaging a car.
