The head of Hungary, Katalin Novak, accepted the invitation of the government of Ukraine and will come to the Crimean platform on August 23 in Kyiv. Still, before that, she will visit Transcarpathia.

Telex.hu reports this with reference to the press service of the Hungarian president.

This also means that the head of the Hungarian state can meet again in person with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

The presidential palace added that before traveling to Kyiv, Katalin Novak will visit Transcarpathia, where together with Hungarians, he will celebrate King Stephen's Day on August 20.

The last time Novak personally met with Zelensky was on November 26, 2022, when she arrived in Ukraine via Poland accompanied by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo. It was the highest-level visit of the Hungarian state to the Ukrainian capital since the beginning of the war.

For reference:

The Crimean Platform is an international format created in 2021 that aims to achieve the de-occupation of Crimea. The first summit took place in 2021 in Kyiv. The event was attended by the then president of Hungary, Janos Ader, who noted that the memory of both the aggression of great power and the trauma of Trianon was deeply etched in the minds of Hungarians, so they know precisely why the annexation of Crimea is such a sensitive wound for the people of Ukraine.

At the 2022 Crimea Platform, Hungary was represented by Peter Staraj, State Secretary responsible for energy supply and security policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. At that time, Staraj spoke about Hungary's unwavering support for Ukraine and that Hungary's primary goal is to establish peace.

As Rubryka reported, to discuss those aspects that concern Hungary and remove debatable issues, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, invited the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, to visit Kyiv.
