Ukrainian football fans thank Germany for Leopard tanks with flash mob during match
Fans held a flash mob as a sign of gratitude for the Leopard tanks provided to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the stands during the Germany-Ukraine football match.
Rubryka reports, referring to the photos fan club of the Ukrainian national team published from the demonstration.
The fans stretched a banner on the tribune with the image of a leopard carrying a small boy on its back. In this way, the Ukrainians thanked Germany for the Leopard tanks and asked for more aid.
The campaign was held under the slogan "Tanke Schön" with an emphasis on the letter T instead of D in the German "thank you" or danke. Ukrainian fans dressed in T-shirts with the event logo and handed out bracelets and badges with Ukrainian symbols to the Germans.
The campaign includes a raffle among fans with the autographs of three Golden Ball winners — Oleh Blokhin, Ihor Belanov, and Andrii Shevchenko. The money will go to the needs of soldiers who have lost limbs.
The "Restorator. Potato Army" humanitarian headquarters organized the flash mob. The authors of the idea are volunteer journalists Leonid Veselkov, Mykola Vasylkov, and artist Andrii Yermolenko.
On June 12, the national team of Ukraine drew 3:3 with Germany in Serhii Rebrov's first match as head coach of the national team.
He replaced Ruslan Rotan in this position, under whose command the national team started the selection for Euro-2024 and lost in the opening match against England (0:2). For the German national team, the game against Ukraine was the 1000th in history.
