UNITED24 and WOG gas station network fundraise to purchase all-terrain vehicles for rescue of flooded Kherson region

UNITED24 and WOG launched the "Rescue wherever our people are" initiative to provide Ukraine's forces with Bohun-2 rescue all-terrain vehicles.

What is the problem?

On the night of June 6, the Russian military blew up the Kakhovka HPP dam, destroying one of the largest water reservoirs in Ukraine. This caused the biggest environmental disaster in Europe in decades.

What is the solution?

Ukraine's WOG gas station network, together with the UNITED24 fundraising platform, launched the project "Rescue wherever our people are." Its purpose is to provide Ukrainian forces with rescue all-terrain vehicles, Bogun-2, which can carry out evacuation from places that are difficult to reach for conventional evacuation equipment. The cost of one all-terrain vehicle is about 150,000 dollars.

How does it work?

Anyone interested can join the initiative.

To do this, it is enough to refuel the car at WOG with branded Mustang fuel. From each liter purchased, the company will transfer 1 hryvnia for the purchase of rescue all-terrain vehicles.

One can also donate to the money jar of the initiative. All funds will go to all-terrain vehicles through UNITED24.

"This initiative was supposed to start in the middle of June, but the news from the Kherson region prompted us to speed up the start. We understand that help in saving the lives of our people is needed here and today. You fill your car with Mustang fuel, we will donate to rescue all-terrain vehicles.

If you are not a driver , but you like coffee, come to us to taste the best coffee and make a direct contribution. All funds will be transferred to the purchase of all-terrain vehicles, emphasized Hennadiy Karlinsky, marketing director of the WOG gas station network.

Ukrainian-made all-terrain vehicles Bohun do not need roads. They can move through the water and difficult terrain: during floods, spring, and autumn road washouts, etc. It is a great transport for evacuation and rescue, which is equipped with stretchers with a system of attachment to a helicopter for transporting victims.

"Yesterday, all-terrain vehicles were working in the Kherson region, rescuing people after the terrorist attack by the Russians at the Kakhovka HPP.

Thanks to a joint project with WOG, we hope to raise funds for at least four all-terrain vehicles that will be able to carry out evacuation off-road, during floods or under any circumstances in the front-line territories ", says the coordinator of the UNITED24 platform Yaroslava Gres.

As of this morning, 600 square kilometers of the Kherson region are underwater. Evacuation of people from the disaster zone continues.

1,999 people have already been evacuated from dangerous areas, the most evacuated from the Korabel micro district (Kherson city).

There is also flooding in Mykolaiv and its region. We are talking about the Sniguriv community (11 settlements).

Meanwhile, two water channels stopped due to a critical drop in the water level in the Kakhovka reservoir in the Dnipropetrovsk region, namely in the Nikopol district.

The Ministry of Environment predicts that water will continue to flow after the Russians blew up the Kakhovka dam, and its level is expected to drop after the 20th of June.

On June 8, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in the Kherson region on a working visit. He held a coordination meeting regarding the elimination of the consequences of the dam explosion.
