New export school in Ukraine's Zhytomyr helps local entrepreneurs sell products on foreign markets

A school is being developed in Ukraine's northwestern city of Zhytomyr to help entrepreneurs export their products.

The City Development Agency announced this on Facebook, Rubryka reports.

What is the problem?

Russia's war severely damaged Ukrainian businesses. Many enterprises were destroyed, millions lost their jobs, and many companies were displaced. Because the Ukrainian economy suffered losses, Ukrainians now try to increase their business capacity to contribute to Ukraine's economy and even conduct activities abroad.

What is the solution?

The project's first stage is the organization and training of 30 local business representatives who are planning or have already started export activities.

How does it work?

The training will last seven days. Participation is free. During the seven days of school, the participants will be able to explore the following:

  • if they are ready for export, how to define a market for export,
  • the market entry model, and develop an export strategy,
  • how to use product adaptation and pricing, navigate logistics and legal aspects of export,
  • how to create an export brand, sell and promote online,
  • how to find partners in the target export market and build long-term mutually beneficial relations,
  • risk and finance management in export,
  • features and rules for concluding export contracts,
  • taxation and accounting of export activities,
  • how to carry out customs clearance of export activities,
  • other legal, technical, insurance, financial, and cultural issues of export activity, in particular examples and practical tasks related to solving problems of export activity.

The Export School was created jointly with the Department of Economic Development of the Zhytomyr City Council. The school is designed for managers of small and medium-sized businesses.
