US allocates new security and defense aid package to Ukraine

The United States allocates a new tranche of aid to Ukraine in the field of security and defense, which will mainly include ammunition and other weapons needed by Ukraine's armed forces.

White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre stated this during a press briefing in Washington, Ukrinform reports.

"The package that the State Department and the Ministry of Defense will announce today provides for more ammunition for the American HIMARS systems, which Ukraine uses so effectively," the spokeswoman for the US administration noted.

In addition, according to her, additional shells for howitzers, artillery, and mortars, as well as anti-tank weapons, are being transferred to Ukraine.

This aid package includes the following:

▪️ammunition for HIMARS;

▪️155-mm howitzers;

▪️ 155-mm artillery shells;

▪️ 120-mm, 81-mm, and 60-mm caliber mortar shells;

▪️TOW missiles for the anti-tank missile complexes;

▪️ AT-4 and Carl Gustaf anti-tank weapon systems;

▪️ Hydra-70 aviation missiles;

▪️small arms and ammunition for them;

▪️ explosive ammunition;

▪️equipment and for transporting heavy machinery;

▪️ Equipment for maintenance and repair of transport;

▪️ Spare parts and other field equipment.

The United States has been a steadfast supporter of Ukraine since the fullscale war launched by Russia started.
The
US has delivered an impressive level of aid and assistance to Ukraine, both in terms of humanitarian and financial support, as well as military assistance. In terms of overall commitments, the US has provided a total of71.283 billion to Ukraine, representing 0.367% of the US GDP and ranking first among other countries.

Of this aid,3.628 billion has been in the form of humanitarian assistance, the highest amount among other countries, and representing 0.019% of the US GDP. Financial commitments from the US to Ukraine have amounted to24.464 billion, the highest among other countries, and accounting for 0.126% of the US GDP.

This has included monetary aid, loan guarantees and funding for economic restructuring. In terms of military commitments, the US has provided43.190 billion to Ukraine, the highest among other countries, and representing 0.222% of the US GDP. This has included training, equipment and intelligence sharing, as well as sanctions and diplomatic support.

The United States' support to Ukraine is a testament to its ongoing commitment to defending democracy and freedom in the face of Russian aggression. By providing this support, the US is helping to ensure that Ukraine has the resources and assistance it needs to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
