There are growing differences between the US and Ukraine over the goals of the war with the russian federation, and potential flashpoints loom on how and when the conflict will end.

Politico notes that senior officials of the White House claim that the unity between Washington and Kyiv is strong.

The media reports that multiple White House officials have reportedly begun to express concern that Ukraine is wasting a lot of human resources and ammunition in Bakhmut, which could undermine the ability to launch a large-scale counteroffensive in the spring.

In addition, according to the publication, there is "disappointment" between the countries regarding the supply of weapons.

However, Joe Biden's administration says the alliance between the United States and its allies and Ukraine remains strong and that it will continue as long as the war lasts.

National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson said the White House is" in constant communication with Ukraine as we support their defense of their sovereignty and territorial integrity." She added that with putin showing no signs of ceasing his war, "the best thing we can do is to continue to help Ukraine succeed on the battlefield so they can be in the strongest possible position at the negotiating table for when that time comes."

"But the growing disconnects may foreshadow a larger divide over the debate on how the war will end. Though Biden has pledged steadfast support, and the coffers remain open for now, the US has been clear with Kyiv that it cannot fund Ukraine indefinitely at this level," – the material says.

At the same time, it is noted that a growing number of Republicans began to express skepticism about the use of American funds to support Kyiv in the war.

In early March, the US and Germany expressed their readiness to impose sanctions against russia as long as necessary.
