EIB provided Ukraine with additional €550 million euros for energy infrastructure restoration

The European Investment Bank transferred an additional 550 million euros to Ukraine, which will help restore the energy infrastructure.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reported this on his Telegram.

"The funds will help, in particular, to cover the costs of repairing damaged energy infrastructure facilities and support the stability of the Ukrainian power grid," the head of the Cabinet of Ministers noted.

Also, this assistance will be directed to the restoration of municipal and basic services to the population in the communities.

The Prime Minister concluded that Ukraine received EUR 1.05 billion within two months as part of the Emergency Support package from the EIB and the European Commission. Another 540 million euros will be paid by restoring financing of joint projects.

The head of government also expressed his gratitude to the European Investment Bank and the European Commission for their support of Ukraine.

"We expect that the EIB and the EU will be among the leaders in large-scale post-war reconstruction, economic recovery, and financing of infrastructure development of our country," he added.
