In Ukraine, 389 children killed amid Russian aggression

Russian troops have killed 389 children across Ukraine since the full-scale invasion, having wounded another 756.
That's according to the Prosecutor General's Office.
"As of the morning of September 17, 2022, more than 1,145 children casualties were confirmed in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression by the Russian Federation. According to the official information of juvenile prosecutors, 389 children died and more than 756 sustained injuries of various severity," the statement reads.
Work is ongoing to verify data incoming from the zones of active hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
The largest numbers of affected children were reported in Donetsk region (394), Kharkiv region (218), Kyiv region (116), Mykolaiv region (72), Chernihiv region (68), Luhansk region (61), Kherson region (55), Zaporizhia region (46), and Dnipropetrovsk region (26).
On September 14, a family with two daughters aged 8 and 12 were killed in Kherson as a result of enemy shelling.
On September 5, a 14-year-old teen boy was killed in the Russian shelling of Nova Husarivka in Izium district, Kharkiv region.
A family with two girls aged 5 and 8 were killed in Izium, Kharkiv region, on March 9, the latest inquiry has learned after the town was liberated by the Ukrainian forces.
On September 15, a 17-year-old teenager was injured by enemy shelling in Sviatohirsk, Donetsk region.
On September 16, two children aged 5 and 17 were wounded as a result of the Russian shelling of Kharkiv.
As a result of bombing and shelling by the Russian armed forces, 2,500 educational facilities were damaged in Ukraine, of which 289 were completely destroyed.
