Ukraine to participate in Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022

Ukraine will participate in this year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held on December 11 in Yerevan (Armenia).

It is reported by Suspilne press service.

Soon Suspilne will announce the national selection and start accepting applications for participation in the song contest with an original song.

Last year in Paris, 14-year-old Malena won among 19 participating countries in the children's competition. It is Armenia's second victory at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Public broadcaster AMPTV hosted the first Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Yerevan in 2011.

Ukraine was represented in Paris by the 14-year-old winner of the national selection Olena Usenko with the song "Vazhil" and took sixth place.

The finale of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 took place in Paris at the La Seine Musicale concert hall.

Junior Eurovision was held for the first time in 2003. Since then, a total of 40 countries have participated in it.

Ukraine has been participating in the competition since 2006.

Ukraine won once (Anastasia Petryk with the song "Nebo" in 2012) and took second place twice (in 2008 and 2013).
