Since the beginning of the war, Ukraine received $6 bln of international aid as grants or loans

Since the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion, the state budget has received $ 6 billion from international partners.

This was stated by finance minister Serhii Marchenko in an interview with Mind.ua., writes Shidniy variant.

The head of the Ministry of Finance stressed that this is despite the fact that the Ministry of Finance estimates the monthly need for funding at $ 5 billion.

"If we talk about the funds received, since the beginning of the war, Ukraine has received more than $ 6 billion of foreign aid in the form of grants and loans," he said.

It is worth noting that the head of the President's Office stressed that the direct losses from the war exceeded $ 600 billion.

According to the Minister, Ukraine received, in particular:

  • $ 1 billion in grants from the United States,
  • 110 million euros from the Italian government,
  • more than 120 million euros from the European Union.

"Funds which are not in grant form are provided mainly at 1% per annum and for 10 to 30 years," Marchenko said.

At the same time, the government's budget needs during the war are $ 5 billion a month.

Part of the current needs of the state budget can be covered by issuing military bonds and revenues from taxes and customs duties, he said.
