In a conversation with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that China would play a constructive role in establishing peace in Ukraine.

This was reported by CNN.

At the same time, the Chinese leader stressed that the international community should really promote peace talks, create conditions for a political settlement of the Ukrainian issue and seek Ukraine's return to peace as soon as possible.

"China will continue to play a constructive role in this regard," he said.

At the same time, EU officials suspect that China may be ready to supply semiconductors and other technical equipment to Russia to mitigate the impact of sanctions imposed by the invasion of Ukraine.

Beijing and Moscow deny any requests for aid. One EU official said the bloc did not yet have strong evidence to support their concerns. A spokesman for the European Commission declined to comment.

According to Biden, the leaders discussed the creation of an organization that will monitor violations of sanctions imposed by the United States, the EU and other partners against Russia.
