IKEA suspends operations in Russia and donates 20 million euros to Ukraine

Trade giant IKEA suspends operations in Russia and suspends operations with Russia and Belarus over their war against Ukraine.

"The war has had a huge human impact already. It is also resulting in serious disruptions to supply chain and trading conditions. For all of these reasons, the company groups have decided to temporarily pause IKEA operations in Russia," the company said in a statement.

Thus, Inter IKEA Group decided to suspend exports and imports to and from Russia and Belarus.

The group also suspends all IKEA Industry production operations in Russia. It also means that all deliveries from all subcontractors to these units are suspended.

Ingka Group (parent company of IKEA) has decided to suspend all IKEA retail operations in Russia.

In addition, IKEA works with humanitarian organizations to provide assistance to war victims. In particular, the Inca Foundation today announced an immediate donation of 20 million euros in humanitarian aid to those forcibly displaced by the war in Ukraine.

In addition, Inter IKEA Group and Ingka Group are allocating €10 million each to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Save the Children and other organizations.
