Children's railway in Kyiv opened winter train traffic: photo

Kyiv Children's Railway has opened winter train traffic in Syretskyi Park on St. Nicholas Day in Kyiv.

The press service of the Kyiv City State Administration reported this.

"On the territory of Syretskyi Park in the capital, the winter traffic of the Kyiv Children's Railway is traditionally open on the winter holidays," the statement reads.

It is noted that the Children's Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi station is a mini-copy of the Central Railway Station of the capital.

In particular, on the way of the children's train, its passengers can see 27 steles with information about the regional centers of Ukraine, as well as the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, receive reference and heraldic information, learn about local attractions.

The Museum of the History of the South-Western Railway will be open to fans of the railway heritage.

It is specified that it is the third season of transportation in the history of the children's railway.

Thus, in 2018, a large-scale reconstruction of the railway began, and currently, the length of the route is 6.7 km.

"The railway is limited to two stations, Children's Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi and Railway. The rolling stock includes three locomotives: locomotives TU7A, locomotive Gr-336, the only operating locomotive among children's railways of Ukraine, 12 passengers and 2 freight cars," the statement said.

Trains will run until 30 January 2022 on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from 10:30 to 18:50 (departures every 40 minutes).
