Today is the 7th anniversary of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk's liberation from Russian militants

It has been 7 years since the Ukrainian military liberated Sloviansk and Kramatorsk from pro-Russian militants. Strategically important cities for Ukraine were under enemy occupation for 84 days.

Rubryka reports.

In early July, Ukrainian forces began to actively attack terrorist positions.

On the night of July 5, the militants fled Sloviansk on field roads to Kramatorsk.

In the morning, the Ukrainian military entered the city and hoisted a state flag over the Sloviansk City Council.

On the same day, due to the defeat in Sloviansk, the militants left Kramatorsk, after which Ukrainian troops took it.

Besides Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, in July 2014, the Ukrainian military also liberated Kostiantynivka, Druzhkivka, and Bakhmut.

During the entire period of fighting for Sloviansk, Ukraine lost 70 soldiers, and 470 terrorists were killed. Losses from the destruction of the housing property in Sloviansk amounted to 1.5 billion hryvnias. In particular, 34 houses and buildings were damaged, including 4 schools.
