Estonia to allocate EUR 1M in humanitarian aid to Ukraine this year

In 2021, Estonia will allocate EUR 1 million in humanitarian aid to help Ukraine deal with the humanitarian crisis.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia reported this on Twitter.

"In 2021 Estonia is allocating €1 million in total to help Ukraine deal with the humanitarian crisis there. In recent years, nearly a third of Estonia's humanitarian aid has been earmarked for Ukraine, and we will continue supporting the country to help those in need," the report reads.

Some sources clarify that the funds will be sent to people living along the contact line in eastern Ukraine.

As Ukrinform reported, Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas paid a three-day visit to Ukraine on May 17-19.

At a joint briefing with Kallas, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said that Estonia provides assistance for more than EUR 1.4 million to Ukraine annually.
