Trudeau assures Zelenskyi of Canada's unwavering support for Ukraine

The Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau assured the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi of Canada's unwavering support for Ukraine.

Justin Trudeau wrote about this on Twitter.

"Thanks for the call, Volodymyr. It's always good to touch base and work on building a strong partnership between our two countries. Know that Canada's support for Ukraine's sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity will never waver," he wrote.

Earlier, Zelenskyi thanked Trudeau on Twitter because "in difficult times, Canada is always close to Ukraine."

He also added that Canada's assistance in obtaining a NATO Membership Action Plan would be "an important signal of support from true friends."

Besides, Zelenskyi invited Trudeau to the Crimean Platform summit on August 23.

As reported by Rubryka, Russia continues to escalate the situation in Ukraine and near the border.

As a result, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg held talks with President Volodymyr Zelenskyi on April 6.

President Zelenskyi has publicly responded to NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg that Ukraine's NATO Membership Action Plan would be a real signal to Russia.

The Kremlin responded to a statement by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, saying that Ukraine's accession to NATO would exacerbate the situation and that it was "deeply unacceptable" for the people of the occupied territories.
