TCG: humanitarian aid was sent to ORDLO

A humanitarian convoy with hygiene kits for Ukrainians to schools and health care facilities in the occupied territories of Donbas has begun crossing the Shchastya checkpoint.

The Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group reports.

"Thanks to the relevant actions of the Ukrainian delegation, a convoy of humanitarian aid intended for Ukrainian citizens in the temporarily occupied territories has just begun crossing the Shchastya checkpoint," the Ukrainian delegation's Facebook page reads.

The Ukrainian delegation to the TCG thanks the representatives of international organizations of the United Nations and the OSCE for assistance in organizing the delivery of humanitarian cargo.

Earlier, the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG reported that on February 24, the JCCC received a request from United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA) to allow the Convoy with humanitarian aid intended for Ukrainian citizens in the temporarily occupied territories to cross the Shchastya checkpoint.

After working on this issue, on February 25, the JCCC sent written guarantees of safety and coordination of the crossing of the Shchastya checkpoint to the UN OCHA representatives.

At 9:40 a.m. on February 26, humanitarian vehicles with representatives of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) (11 vehicles in total) arrived at the Shchastya checkpoint. At 1:50 p.m., the Russian party provided information according to which it refused to receive humanitarian aid.

UN representatives decided to send vehicles to Severodonetsk.
