Hydrogen transport: are the prospects for the world and Ukraine realistic?
Hydrogen transport has become one of the newest trends in the developed world in the fight against harmful emissions into the atmosphere and, in general, in combating global warming. However, today we are talking more about experimental, "model" projects because, in the economic sense, cars with hydrogen engines are currently a luxury. How realistic is the introduction and development of the latest transport in developed countries and Ukraine in the coming years, given the many pros and cons?
Cars on hydrogen engines: pros and cons
Today, many industry experts point out that hydrogen cars have significant advantages not only over "dirty" diesel cars but also over electric cars because they charge much faster and are considered more practical for commercial use. In addition, there is no need to create a cheap system for recycling batteries, which is effectively established even in not all developed countries.
The major advantages of a hydrogen fuel car stem from the features of this engine. In short, a hydrogen fuel cell is a battery-like electrochemical device that produces electricity by chemically reacting hydrogen and oxygen. The latter is extracted directly from the atmosphere by means of a filtering compressor unit located on board.
